Media Access Awards Logo Redesign

Project Overview

  • Role: Art Director
  • Client: Easterseals
  • Duration: 2020
  • Deliverable: New Logo

The Ask

Media Access Awards is an annual award show focused on people with disabilities to recognize their work and contributions in the entertainment industry. Their branding is marked with their iconic delta shaped award.

Media Access Awards, Presented by Easterseals sought to update their logo. They requested to preserve the triangle (shape of the award) if possible in the new design. They asked for versions locking up with Easterseals name or logo as well. This is the previous logo and lockup my creative team was given to redesign.

Research & Landscape

1) Icons are integrated within the typography to create an ownable mark whenever possible. 2) Color is used selectively to guide the eye around the logo with intention. 3) Various shades of yellow and gold are a quick visual cue for “awards”. 4) Delicate details are avoided for increased readability at small sizes and a more modern feel. 5) Typography is clear and authoritative.

Iterations

We went through 3 rounds with the client, and their choices moved closer and closer to my iteration, including the 3rd round being all of my concepts.
